05.05.2010 Susa to Vaie - 27km
Rain and more rain, with only a break in the middle for the day to give us a forlorn hope. It started again just an hour later with even more force. I still don't understand why water in droplets is so unpleasant, but it is. Even Nellie shows signs of having had enough. But the route is good, no dreadful roads and no dreadful climbs and just when the rain turns into steel rods (and I am at the end of my very wet tether, Paul (always at his best in adversity) finds us a B&B in a no-name town. Once again, we have been taken in by people who cannot do enough to help us and love our animals. Nellie is tethered in lush grass, after munching her way through a few kilos of dried bread, Flea is lolling on his own, personal blanket and we have reduced our room to a steam bath as we make best use of two radiators (!) to dry our drenched clothes. Life is good, but the weather forecast for tomorrow is shit!

...and for the coming week I'm afraid. Hope you get some warming liquids inside you to combat the outside damp. :)
