17.04.2010 Entrepierres to St Geniez - 10km
Wake to frost on the ground but a clear blue sky, the sun starts to feel warm just after 8.30. We pass the 1000 metres today and Nellie seems to be showing positive signs of recovery – important markers in so many respects. Other highlights – the singing rocks (we assume due to the wind) and in appearance reminiscent of mount Rushmore, though without, and therefore preferable, the presidential faces, yet another herd of goats and an invitation to coffee in a small village on the way up. Tonight we are staying in yet another gite equestre, so Nellie can have good food and we can sleep under a solid roof – rain threatening as I write.
Gite equestre – rating: Excellent/PR – horse accommodation (8 euros with feed). Warm welcome, with evening meal (16 euros) Les Cavaliers de St Geniez, Le Bachas, 04 92 61 00 87
