Yet another unforgettable day. Some main road at the outset, but after this a generally very pleasant climb into the mountains, surrounded by bluffs of rock. On the way we are stopped by a reporter from La Provence who takes pictures and tells us that we will be in next week's edition. Later, we give Nellie another therapeutic (and for the humans, freezing) 10 minutes in a river of barely melted ice-water, which she tolerates stoically. In the evening we camp next to the same river's much smaller and turbulent passage higher up and prepare a fire, until we discover that we have lost our matches. Without this, the picture would probably be too perfect.
