Tough going out of Menton, but we were accompanied for part of the way by Francis (owner of the centre equestre) … a real help. Nellie remembered some of her less pleasant attributes, cavorting and generally bullying me for the first few kilometres, but she soon reverted to her better self – ascending and descending steps in the truly picturesque village of Roquebrun – and we were fine. Now we are camped on the edge of a pond with a view over the bay – not sure I could ask for much more, except a slightly less sore toe, after one of Nellie's debut, epic leaps.
